Laura Fygi was a member of one of the most popular Dutch girl-bands, Centerfold, known for their hit "Dictator" In 1991, the ladies of Centerfold stopped performing and Laura started a band called The Backlot. Later on, Laura made a solo album. Her first album was called 'Introducing'. Most of the tracks on this album are jazz.
