PhilPop announces Top 12 Finalists

PhilPop recently announced the top 12 finalist for this year’s Philippine Popular Music Festival.

The Philippine Popular Music Festival is an annual songwriting competition open to all amateur and professional composers who are Filipinos or of Filipino descent residing in the Philippines. The competition is only open to original and previously unreleased songs in English, Filipino and other Philippine languages.

6. Dear Heart by Mike Villegas 
7. Hangout Lang by Allan Feliciano and Isaac Joseph Garcia
8. NGSB (No Girlfriend Since Break) by Davey Langit 
9. The Only One by Venelyn San Pedro 
10. Song On A Broken String by Jude Gitamondoc and Therese Marie Villarante 
11. Salbabida by Jungee Marcelo 
12. Kung Akin Ang Langit by Cecilia Bocobo and Isaac Joseph Garcia

Philpop grand prize winner will receive 1 million pesos and a chance to have her/his own album. All 12 finalists will also see their songs featured in the Philpop 2014 album produced and distributed by Universal Records.

The song Dati by Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana was 2013 Philpop 2013 grand prize winner.
